Pain & Soreness In sciatic Pain
Are you suffering from pain and soreness in your lower back, or you are not able to walk comfortably due to excruciating pain down to your leg? Most the persons who have these conditions also have numbness in their buttock area and leg or both legs. These symptoms are associated with sciatica pain, which is direct result of the compression of the sciatic nerve somewhere along the path. Being the longest nerve in the body and extends from the base of the spine through hips, buttocks down the length of both legs.
There is a silver line, the series of sciatic nerve stretches are designed to stop the compression and hence provide relief and comfort. The multiple points along the sciatic nerve are always prone to compression. The doctor is the right person to locate the exact point of the problem. They normally give drugs which are anti inflammatory and also advise some physiotherapy.
Mostly the compression is seen in the base of the spine, a bulging or herniated disk can continuously pinch the nerve. In some conditions, it has been seen that pinching of the nerve is in or near the spine. Another point which is quite vulnerable is your piriformis which lies deep into the hips. In this condition also same type of symptoms are seen.
The stretching of the nerve is done in both these conditions. The ultimate objective is to loosen the muscles which are responsible for compression and pain in the sciatic area. You need to be extra careful while deciding about the stretching exercise as in some cases people do not get any relief or their conditions worsens.
One that has proved quite effective is lying on the floor on your back and start stretching your back. In this stretching exercise, you have to lift the affected leg and cross it over the other leg, so that the back of your knee is positioned on the other leg. While doing so, you have to slowly lift the knee which is not affected and pull it towards your chest using your both hands. You have to ensure that both your feet are off the floor. You should be able to have a good stretch, never use force to hurt yourself. Do it slowly few times a day with good gap in between. This should definitely help you.
The main sciatica treatment involves in right diagnosis and save you from physical dysfunction which is caused due to imbalance of muscles. Almost all of us have one or the other such malfunction, people may not realize it, but it is a fact. These conditions develop over a period of time due our hectic work schedule and adopting wrong postures in our daily routine. Treating sciatica for pain does not provide any solution; the basic treatment has to be removing muscle imbalances. By treating only symptoms, the pain will relapse after sometime. A good combination of various therapies will correct the basic problem of sciatica to provide everlasting relief and has to be patient specific.
